Your Privacy Matters
At DriftCrew, we take your privacy seriously. We built this app to help you track and share your outdoor adventures with your crew, not to profit from your data. This policy explains how we handle your information.
We Don't Sell or Share Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, location data, or any details about your sessions with third parties. Your data stays with you and your crew. The only people who can see your location and session information are:
- Members of crews you've created or joined
- Shore crew members you've explicitly invited to monitor your sessions
What Information We Collect
To provide our adventure tracking services, we collect:
- Account Information: Email address and display name
- Location Data: GPS coordinates during active tracking sessions
- Session Data: Route history, distance, speed, and duration of your sessions
- Crew Information: Crew members you invite and their basic profile information
- Device Information: Device type and app version for technical support
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide real-time location sharing with your crew
- Monitor and send push notifications based on user Alert settings
- Store and display your session history and statistics
- Create shared web links user demand only
- Improve app functionality and fix technical issues
Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. Your location information is transmitted securely and stored in encrypted databases. We never store your location data longer than necessary to provide our services.
Shared Tracks and Media
When you share a session track via a web link:
- Pseudo-Private: Shared links are accessible to anyone who has the link. We do not require authentication to view shared tracks. Only share with people you trust.
- Privacy Protection: Real names are not included in shared tracks. Riders are identified only as "Rider 1", "Rider 2", etc.
- 30-Day Retention: Shared track data and all associated media files (photos and videos) are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after the share link is created.
- Media Storage: If you include photos or videos when sharing, these files are uploaded to our secure servers and are only accessible via the share link. They are not used for any other purpose.
- No Recovery: Once deleted after 30 days, shared tracks and media cannot be recovered. If you need a permanent record, save or export your data before sharing.
Public Leaderboards
DriftCrew offers optional public leaderboards. Here's how your data is handled when you participate:
- Opt-In Required: Your tracks are never added to public leaderboards without your explicit consent. You must choose to submit each track you want to share publicly.
- What's Made Public: When you submit to a leaderboard, your display name, track statistics (distance, speed, duration, route), and any included media become publicly visible.
- Permanent Display: Unlike private shared tracks, leaderboard entries do not automatically expire and may remain visible indefinitely unless you remove them.
- Usage Rights: By submitting to a leaderboard, you agree that DriftCrew may display and promote your track data and media on our platforms, including for marketing purposes.
- Removal: You can remove your tracks from leaderboards at any time through the app settings.

You have the right to:
- Easily Delete your data from settings page
